The far west side of Turkey Mountain is being leveled. Prepping for commercial developement. I talked to a pleasant gentleman who was operating one of the Caterpillers. He told me that the land was not sold, but they were cleaning the property up, removing briers and deadfall. They said they were leaving the good oak, hackberry, and pecan trees.I was trying to stay out of sight, but he stopped his machine and walked over to ask if he could help me. I am sure that the owner had warned them that there might be some "resistance" to this work.
I know the landowner has every right to sell his land. And the equipment operators are just doing a job they are hired to do. I'ts just sad that we are losing 53 acres and about 2 miles of super trailz.
The Half and Half Mareathon, and Turley and TATURs will have to be re-routed. If they make the Pipeline trail unusable, it'll really mess things up.

Wow. This blows. I've been running those trails a lot lately. They're gone now?
They have wiped out part of the Old Boys trail--probably 200 yards of it so far, and they're heading north.
Now that just sucks. I wonder how much of that land on the West side is privately owned.
A lot of it is owned or partially owned by Kaiser. The 53 acres being leveled is owned by Beeline Properties.
You know that is just heartbreaking. 53 acres?
